Thank you for your inquiry! Writin’ it Right provides a variety of services to writers who aspire to publish the next bestseller. I employ a variety of methods to help you achieve your goals. Please take a moment to review my menu of services before you decide which approach will best serve your needs:
- Writing Coach: A good coach (I'm a good coach) will walk with you throughout the entire process of writing your book. You and I will meet four times per month for intense two-hour sessions. I employ a number of creative coaching tools designed to keep you focused, overcome writer’s block, and help you find (and keep) your voice. Each week, you and I will chat, play grammar games, brainstorm about creative ideas, and make suggestions on ways to strengthen your writing. In addition, we will review your progress, edit what you have written the week before, and set goals for the upcoming week. Throughout the process, I will inform you of marketing tools such as writing contests, social networking avenues, and general ideas to help you promote yourself and your book. In addition, I will help you find the publishing company that will best meet your goals. Once your book has been published, I will help you find a venue to hold your first book signing and offer additional marketing leads and suggestions (I love this part). As your coach, you are welcomed to contact me at any time with questions via phone or email. You can also stay connected to my Facebook page, Felicia's Write (don't forget to "Like" me, and follow this blog. FEE: $250.00 per month.
- Editor: For those who feel confident with their writing, and simply need another set of eyes, feel free to borrow mine. I will assist with appropriate formatting, proofreading, and editing suggestions to strengthen your writing. I will meet with you as many times as you need until you feel that the book is ready to go to print. FEE: $50.00 per hour.
- Ghostwriter: Because many of my clients are experts in their fields, e.g., cooking, politics, education, or ministry, they are often asked to write a weekly column or article for a variety of publications. Unfortunately, while folks may be great behind a stove or pulpit , they might not be as good at writing. That’s when I step in. I will “ghost” write your newspaper or magazine article based on the information that you provide, including research, story focus, and publishing guidelines. Food critics, I just love going to new restaurants and trying out free food (I'm just saying). The story will appear with your byline. FEES: $75.00 per column (less than 100 words). $150.00 per magazine or newspaper article (100-500 words). Fees for articles that exceed 500 words are determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Story review: Some of my clients simply want another set of eyes to read what they have written. They seek a second opinion along with suggestions to improve their product. I provide a “read only” service that includes basic grammar suggestions, and quality determination. FEE: $50.00
- Private tutoring: My tutorials include general writing, critical thinking, and vocabulary builders. Every client begins by completing a basic skills assessment review to help me determine the level of need. Private tutoring sessions are available to students who need help with their homework, as well as professionals who are required to write on the job. Technical writing, professional papers and research, inspirational writing, grant writing, marketing and PR, are my areas of expertise. I am familiar with the most popular styleguides including; MLA, APA, AP and Chicago. FEE: $30.00 per hour.
- Other Services: For those who find themselves in a pinch, and need someone to help them make their deadlines, I can help. FEE: determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Workshops and Group Sessions: I offer SAT preparation classes and writer’s workshops at various times throughout the year. Stay tuned for more details. NOTE: I will host more group sessions in the future as more clients request them.
- Oral emphasis: During this session, a writer and I place more emphasis on reading his work aloud. The goal is to allow the writer to "hear" his own story to determine his voice. Oral emphasis is automatically included as part of my regular coaching sessions. Individual oral emphasis classes are one-hour long. FEE: $25.00 per hour.
